Job Description:

Emergency Room nurse has different job duties during their shifts. The responsibility requires working with neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients with different presenting symptoms involving different systems of the body. Charting on patient requires computer skills in the computer program of the hospital where assigned. Collaborate with the physicians and other medical professionals in the clinical setting. Has knowledge in operating medical equipment used by nurses in the Emergency Room. Perform diagnostic tests like accucheck. Use medical scrubs as required at the assigned facility. NIHSS certificate required.

Job Description:
A step down nurse renders professional nursing care in accordance with physician's treatment plans and standards of evidence based practice/care. In doing so, assesses patient's condition, plans patient care, administers prescribed drugs, provides treatments, provides appropriate patient education, and evaluates patient's progress, records pertinent observations and responses to drugs and treatments. Assists with examinations and prepares instruments and equipment. Advocates for patient in order to achieve the best possible outcome. Step down nursing jobs involve care for patients requiring close monitoring and frequent assessment, but who aren't unstable enough to need ICU care. Step down nurses monitor cardiac and other critical vital signs and detect any changes, thereby enabling intervention of life-threatening or emergency situations. Many Steps down patients receive complex medications that may require titration based on the patients’ vital signs The Stepdown nurse is sometimes also called a step-down nurse and the PCU is also known as cardiac stepdown, medical stepdown, neuro stepdown, surgical stepdown and ER holding.
Required:
- 2 years of PCU/Stepdown experience
- IV start, Tele, Phlebotomy, and A-line exp

- Floating to all PCU/Stepdown units and down to MS if census permits
